Etching

I just finished a course at Graphic Studio Dublin, learning to etch and make prints.  I loved the process and I have a whole new understanding of just how much work (and blind faith) is involved in getting a single print made!

Hard-ground etching, aquatint and spitbite, 12.5cm x 12.5cm, unfinished. This was my first attempt at all these techniques. The spitbite (painting acid directly onto the plate) didn't come out as intended, as there should have been a lot more contrast in shadow areas.

From the studio window
